Three Cliffs Bay Walking Route

This pleasant walk through a wooded valley, past a WWII bunker, takes in views of Pennard Castle before arriving at the golden sands at Three Cliffs.

Walk Summary

Distance: 1.7 miles (2.7km).
Walk classification: Coastal walk, rough paths.
Be prepared: Strong shoes or boots and waterproof clothing are advisable.
Safety Information: If you’re going onto beach please observe safety notices, otherwise, turn around and head back. Not suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs due to uneven surfaces and sandy track
Useful Information: There is a charge for parking, Café at Shepherd's. No benches or toilets on this route.
Start and finish point: Car park outside Shepherd’s, Parkmill.

Walk Details

Start:    Start at car park outside Shepherd’s, next to Gower Heritage Centre.

Cross road and access footpath alongside Maes yr Haf Restaurant (sign-posted Three Cliffs Bay).

Walk along footpath crossing bridge before bearing right, where path continues through wooded area (path is uneven and can be slippery depending on weather).

On leaving wooded area walk along sandy track, keeping to left.

Continue walking, past WWII bunker on your right, until you reach boardwalk running alongside a stream, you’ll see Pennard Castle on left at top of valley.

Finish:  Follow boardwalk, walking along sandy track until you reach beach, you have now walked 1.4km / 0.8 miles.
