Christmas countdown weekend for Premier League city
It's going to be a Christmas weekend to remember in Swansea!
Waterfront Winterland 2011/2012 Brochure
The countdown starts on the night of November 18 when Waterfront Winterland opens for the first night of the festive season complete with Giant Wheel, ice rink and funfair.
That's followed the next day by a giant city centre Christmas launch party being organised by Swansea BID and the City Centre Partnership to celebrate the Swans v Manchester United game at the Liberty Stadium.
And then on Sunday November 20 it's the annual Christmas parade and festive lights switch-on that's being led by the Council.
The Saturday launch party is featuring reindeers, face-painters and stilt-walkers as organisers turn the city centre red and white - the colours of Manchester United and Swansea City but also the traditional colours of Christmas.
Radio station The Wave will set up for an outdoor broadcast as the build-up to the 5.30pm kick-off against Manchester United reaches fever pitch.
