Four Swansea beauty spots have landed prestigious Green Flag status

Clyne Gardens in May
Clyne Gardens, Singleton Botanical Gardens, Victoria Park and Brynmill Park have all again received the honour for scoring excellently across a range of areas.
The Green Flag scheme was introduced in Wales eight years ago and has since become the national standard for parks both here and in England.
Receiving the status is a sure sign that a park is judged to be a high-quality green space that gives visitors a hugely rewarding experience.
Only parks that are free to enter and open to the public are eligible for the award scheme.
The four Swansea parks are among 49 in Wales to be allocated Green Flag status this year.

Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: "Having quality parks and green spaces is crucial in Swansea if we're to maintain our reputation as a city that offers an excellent work-life balance.
"It's terrific news that these four beauty spots have yet again received Green Flag status and credit must go to our parks staff because they do a fantastic job that often goes unnoticed."
Victoria Park is a busy urban beauty spot that provides facilities for all ages and Brynmill Park recently benefited from a £1.3m restoration scheme that's resulted in huge improvements to what's one of Swansea's oldest and most popular parks.
Clyne Gardens is an internationally-renowned woodland garden haven that's famed for its range of Rhododendron plant collections, discovery trails, bog garden, bluebell wood and wild flower meadow.
Singleton Botanical Gardens boasts spectacular herbaceous borders and large glasshouses that reproduce a variety of different climates from around the world thanks to the expertise of specialist parks staff.
Phil Barton, Green Flag Plus Partnership chairman, said: "I'd like to congratulate this year's winners, who have worked hard throughout the year to keep their parks and green spaces at a high standard and ensure they are pleasant and enjoyable spaces for the whole community.
"The Green Flag Award Scheme, and its growth, is essential in driving up the standards of our parks and green spaces. Access to quality green space is something we all desire and the scheme plays a key role in providing it.
"In these challenging financial times it is heartening that the number of Green Flag
Awards continue to grow."
