We hope you keep well and enjoy your visit. But if you fall ill or hurt yourself while you're away from home, this leaflet offers you advice about what to do:

This leaflet includes advice for common conditions, and instructions on how to find your nearest hospital.

Please note: If you have chest pains, difficulty breathing, lose consciousness, have a fit, suffer major blood loss, choke, get a severe allergic reaction, or any other life-threatening condition or major injury, always ring 999.

If your condition is not so serious, first decide if it can wait until you can see your own GP, or if a local pharmacist can help. If not, then ring the confidential NHS Direct Wales helpline on 0845 46 47 for 24-hour advice.

After hours, (between 6.30pm and 8am), and at weekends, you can also use the Swansea GP Out of Hours Service: 0845 8501 362.
