A walk around Rhossili Down and Mewslade Bay is among the Ramblers' Association's top coastal walking routes, as published in The Telegraph:

'Few beaches anywhere can rival in beauty the magnificent five-mile sweep of sand that is Rhossili Bay on the westernmost tip of the Gower Peninsula, just round the corner from busy Swansea.'

The RA are obviously Gower fans: in 2007, they also chose Rhossili as one of their 'Top 10 Most Romantic Walks':

'The tranquil, unspoilt beauty of Rhossili Bay, at the western edge of the Gower peninsula, makes it ideal for romance. The Worms Head outcrop stretches out to sea, becoming an island when the tide comes in. Stroll out there before enjoying a spectacular sunset over the sweeping, sandy beach, surrounded by towering cliffs.'
