The Gower Way (Southern section)Discover the stunning Gower Peninsula as you make your way from Rhossili to Penmaen along the 'Gower Way Southern'![]() Worm's Head and the former Coastguard Lookout building, Rhossili A relatively long but rewarding walk, best suited to experienced walkers. Walk grade Strenuous Route type Linear Suitable for Experienced walkers, due to length Terrain The walk covers field, farm tracks, climbing steps, woodland and moorland. Start The former Coastguard Lookout building opposite Worm's Head (the building is now a CCW information centre). Finish Penmaen Distance covered 8 miles / 13 km Average time 4-5 hours Useful information Public Transport: Buses run to Rhossili, see our Exploring by bus page Car parking available at Rhossili (private parking fee) Refreshments available at Worm's Head Hotel and shop (near car park), petrol station (en route), King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston. Public toilets available at bottom of Rhossili car park, Worm's Head Hotel, petrol station and King Arthur Hotel. Be prepared: Strong shoes or boots and waterproof clothing are advisable.
